2010 has been a magical mystery tour of art shows for me and Melissa (my beloved). On the heals of what was our biggest exhibition to date, World’s Fair, comes “Four Artists” art show right in our hood, Chestnut Hill. Melissa and I are newcomers to this part of Philly and we felt at home since day one. I have lived all over Philadelphia and I have to say the folks in Chestnut Hill rock! Everyone says “hi”, the local businesses are always welcoming and my favorite coffee shop on the planet has to be Chestnut Hill Coffee. The wonderful folks at Nichols Berg Gallery are also newcomers to the Hill. Their first show was an open invitation to all the artists that lived in the surrounding areas. It was their way to meet their neighbors and establish a relationship with the local talent. Nice!
I love the idea for this show; two couples, four artists showing off their artistic wears. I was able to create a couple of new pieces; I have been doing some detailed ink drawings on vintage book pages. While Melissa created twenty new “Cork Peeps” for the show, there is even a bunch with a Holiday theme!
It should be wonderful show and a fun opening; Chestnut Hill is absolutely beautiful this time of year. I invite you all to come on out.
The show will be up from December 3rd to the 31st, the opening is Friday, December 3rd from 6pm to 9pm. You can find directions and information on the gallery here.
