The Planet of the Hot Dog Eating Trolls.

Loving Local Biznesses
Recently I have been participating in a few art shows at local businesses here in Philly. I wanted to take a moment and thank two of them specifically.
Brave New Worlds Comic Shop in Olde City has been the home to many a Philadelphia Cartoonist Society and Philly Comix Jam exhibition. Their unwavering support of local cartoonists and artists is one of the many reasons BNW is an amazing shop and business. Brain and Rob are beacons for local talent. I cannot tell you how many artists and writers I’ve met just dropping in and picking up the latest ish of Hellboy. They recently moved (2 doors down) to 55 North Second Street in Philadelphia’s Olde City neighborhood. Best of luck in the new digs gentlemen!
The second home-grown biz is the eatery among eateries. I’m talking about Hot Diggity located on Philly’s famous South Street. I posted a little while back about their art show for Hot Dog Fest here. I wanted to follow up and thank Keith and the gang over at Hot Diggity for not only a stellar show but for purchasing some of the works as part of a permanent display in the restaurant. One of my best art experiences ever – picking up the check for my piece along with a “Windy City.”
Local artists supporting local businesses supporting local artists – it doesn’t get any better than that.
Be sure and stop either of this two amazing Philly staples next time your in the neighborhood.
