What a blast! Two pieces of art for tow shows on two of my favorite subjects. Over the last few days I finished up a piece for a Hot Dog themed show as part of Hot Dog Fest! Hot Diggity was gracious enough to hang some of our work right on South Street this past Saturday. My second piece (above) will be part of Babes, Booze and Tattoos: A Salute to Norman “Sailor Jerry” Collins. This exhibition is sponsored by Sailor Jerry Rum! Now if I can just find art shows with Beer and Ice Cream themes this might be the best Summer ever. If you happen to be in the Philly area (Northern Liberties) this weekend be sure and stop in to Jinxed and check out the Sailor Jerry show. You can get more info here.
Above: My contribution to “Babes, Booze and Tattoos” inspired by some of the icons created by Sailor Jerry. I also included one of my favorite quotes from Dan Zadra. This quote sits above my art desk. (“Worry is Misuse…” pen and ink on Bristol board, $100.00 framed)
Below: This piece was on display this past weekend as part of Hot Dog Fest. If you ever visit South Street you gotta go to Hot Diggity! Man their hot dogs are the BEST! This piece is titled “Francois the Hot Dog Loving Troll.” (Pen and ink on Bristol board, $50.00 framed)
