Monster Monday 34. (The Pilgrim)

“The Pilgrim, Chapter 33”
by Kris Kristofferson
See him wasted on the sidewalk in his jacket and his jeans,
Wearin’ yesterday’s misfortunes like a smile
Once he had a future full of money, love, and dreams,
Which he spent like they was goin’ outa style
And he keeps right on a’changin’ for the better or the worse,
Searchin’ for a shrine he’s never found
Never knowin’ if believin’ is a blessin’ or a curse,
Or if the goin’ up was worth the comin’ down

This song “The Pilgrim” served as the inspiration for this character design. Been working on this guy for a bit, part of a comic story I have been chipping away at over the past few months.  Lately, I have been inspired by the Old West and movie monsters. Just re-watched “The Unforgiven” starring Clint Eastwood. This flick is one of my all time favorites in terms of flawed heroes. Eastwood is at his ornery best as Will Munny and Hackman as Little Bill is almost a likeable villain. Would love to draw and write an Old West Creature Feature comic sometime soon!
