“DROP AND GIVE ME 20…pages?”
This Saturday I’ll be hosting a FREE Comic Book Workshop. I’m hoping this turns into a draw-a-thon for young and old. My plan is to bring some of the comics I am currently working on, spread everything out and get to work. I’ll be chatting about character design, how I approach putting a story together and some finishing techniques. As always I’ll be extending an open invitation to my awesome buds from the Philadelphia Cartoonist Society. So I am pretty sure there will be a bunch of art to look over and a jam piece or two for everyone to draw on! This is an all ages event. I’ll have some blank templates for folks to start on their own comics, just bring some pencils and your imagination.
Oh yeah and the whole neighborhood is celebrating Harry Potter and all things Quidditch all weekend! Muggles welcome.
Below is the description of the Boot Camp:
Comic Book Boot Camp – Ever wanted to draw and write your own comics? This workshop will cover; creating characters, dynamic panel layouts, writing and drawing comics, a long with different finishing techniques in pencils and inks. Come on out and learn the nuts and bolts of sequential art. Templates will be provided and guests will be encouraged to create their own min-comic as well as a jam comic featuring contributions by the entire group. Instructor: Christian “Patch” Patchell, all ages, some supplies provided, guests need pencils, pens, eraser and sketchbooks.
Saturday, October 15th, from 12pm to 4pm.
