In the classroom I constantly push my students to create thumbnail sketches. Not being a big fan of hypocrisy thumbnails are a crucial part of my process. At the moment I am planning a comic story that spans about 60 to 7o strips. I have been thumb-nailing out the entire story in order to avoid repetition and to keep the story visually fresh. The photo above is recent shot of my art desk as I prep the enlarged thumbnails to transfer them onto Bristol board to create finish pencils.
